THE ADVENTURE OF TEACHING

'Welcome to
Comenius Assistants'

TEACHING is what I really love doing. I cannot understand why it is so difficult to teach a foreign language when we have an adequate supply of materials to be used in class. We have course books, realia or authentic materials, grammar and vocabulary instruction books, online activities and games, etc.

No way. All this does not work at all. Learning is a natural process, and so teaching should be, an understandable procedure in which the meaningful learning is beyond any doubt a must.

TEACHERS are to follow the regulations set up by our government that apply to education, however,  that should only be on the matter arising from the minimum contents for each level, if at all. We should be way over the systematic classes in which students always expect to be said what to do every single moment.

Let them create. Do not force them to do everything your way.  Serve them as a guide. Set them the pace. Let them edge their way.

Besides, the gratifying experience of SHARING teaching principles, methods and techniques with our European colleagues is something every teacher should try out. Our students do really appreciate the significance of learning languages if need be.

Let them learn from experience. Give them the opportunity to gain knowledge from what they have encountered in other countries. Living through exchanges helps them understand how necessary the learning of any language is to communicate with their foreign peers.
